Effective Carpal Tunnel Relief

The best choice I ever made was to get carpal tunnel release for my carpal tunnel syndrome. I am not sure how my carpal tunnel in both arms became so agitated because none of my work or hobbies revolve around repetitive motion. My doctor told me that the notion that carpal tunnel syndrome is brought on my repetitive stressful motions with the hands is a myth but my experiential observations would prove him wrong. Two of my friends, who work as seamstresses, have had severe carpal problems. My uncle, who rolled candy and made sweets his whole life, also was afflicted with this syndrome. What I can say for certain is that mine was so bad at one point that I could not even write a letter to one my friends.

Instead of feeling afraid of wrist surgery, I welcomed it. I knew that the change from serious inflammation and numbness to anything else would be a welcomed change. My friends had nothing but good things to say about the surgery and my uncle lamented that he wished he would have had something done sooner with his problem. The surgeon in charge of the process was a patient and kind person. He was able to explain to me exactly what was happening to cause me so much pain. Rather than put me completely under, he gave me a powerful local anesthetic and a couple other things. I was conscious during the operation but an audio book on my headphones kept me focused away from what the surgeon and the nurses were saying.

It has been two years since my surgery and things are looking up for my wrist. I have not once regretted the decision and would recommend to anyone reading this who has wrist pain to seek medical attention.
